I know, I know, it has been a long time I have blogged on here. Work and uni have just taken over and now the summer is here I am back and ready to carry on my journey.
Boots have finally introduced C.Y.O to their stores across the UK (woohoo!). They are cruelty free and were only available in the USA and online for a while. C.Y.O aims is to allow us to be creative and ‘Create Your Own’. The brand has a vibrant range of colours and every product you need to create the look you want. I was lucky enough to be given a few products to add to my collection I already have. I decided to create a look with the products that I have which is similar to what I have been wearing lately. It is a warm and summary look which is perfect for this time of the year.
I have the shade 102, it is a bit too light for me but it’ll do. The product says it is ‘lifeproof’ which I guess means it lasts all day no matter what life throws at it. I would say it has a light/medium coverage, but it is buildable, and had a matte finish. I was surprisingly impressed with this product, I was a bit concerned about how well it would last especially in this heat. It lasted all freaking day!! i find most foundation sink into my smile lines and make me look super old, but this product kept a smooth appearance all day long. So yeah, very impressed, thumbs up from me.
I am not the biggest fan of stick concealers and I would not purchase this product based on that. I have the shade medium and for the price it had a good coverage (medium) and it did last for the majority of the day. It did crease not long after application and setting the product, making my eyes look wrinkly (lols). I just blended it out again and it was good to go.
They have cream and powder blushes available in a small range of colours which makes choosing one so much easier. Like most of the products I found it lasts all day and it gives my cheeks a subtle glow of colour. It says its buildable but I haven’t tried it as I don’t like too much colour on my cheeks. It’s good for the price but it is just a standard blush that last all day.
I was really surprised with this mascara. When I sore the brush I was like it’s too big and will probably not do anything to my lashes. I have very fussy lashes as it is and they don’t take well to many mascaras. The photo below pretty much sums up how good my lashes looked.
I chose the shade clowning around, how cute is that. This.Proudct.Is.Amazing. It literally does what it says. I had this product on for around 10 hours and I was shocked when I looked in the mirror at the end of the day and it was still in place. No smudges, no creases, super sparkly and easy to blend into your eyeshadow. It really gives a kick to your eye look without look over the top. Definitely a new fav for me.
This product is available in 2 shades and has 2 highlighters and a bronzer/contour (I have the shade fair/medium). The highlight shades are beautiful and are more subtle than most highlighters, which is perfect for me as I don’t really like too much highlight on my face, it is buildable if you’re looking for a more intense glow. I found the bronzer took a bit of time to blend out but once it did it looked fab. It didn’t look ashy or muddy, it was just right for my skin. It says it lasts up to 16 hours…mine was on for 10 and it had not moved or rubbed off so I believe this statement.
I have two shades in this lipstick, Deviate and Plead 5. Deviate is a shimmery bright orange which is perfect for the summer, I have not actually worn this shade yet as it is a bit intense for work. However, Plead 5 is a shimmer nude and I love it. It goes on so smoothly and I am usually horrendous when it comes to liquid lipsticks. This product is quite sticky and doesn’t dry down, but it does some how stay on. I found myself replying once throughout the day after my lunch. I’m not sure if I would buy this product again but I want to try out their lipstick range.
Overall, I am massively impressed with C.Y.O products. They’re affordable and do what they say on the package. I have literally paid twice as much for products which I have had the same result with as these ones. Massive thumbs up to C.Y.O and I cannot wait to try some more of the range.
What are all your thoughts and opinions on C.Y.O?
